Hi all,
I would like to try and get hold of some 100 yen coins for use on one of my candy cabs. I can't find a seller online aside from individually on eBay. Does anyone know of a site that sells them in multiples? Cheers |

How many do you need? I might be able to spare some.

Hi Flinnster,
I was thinking around 15-20 maybe. They would be stored on the machine itself. I just thought it might be enjoyable to use coins on a machine as most of mine have credit buttons. |

If any one is able to, and wants to, buy a bulk load then I’d be happy to buy 50 100 yen coins

I'm actually looking for some myself. Am very often buying stuff in Japan, but unfortunately Bank Of Japan doesn't have a webshop of coin rolls :-)
Problem is that all I find online obviously are the special occasion coins, while I'd prefer just having the regular ones. Just did some calculation about importing a slightly larger batch of 100 Yen coins, with all shipping, customs fees, taxes, I expect it to cost about € 1,50 per coin, which seems quite expensive. Not sure if I should. How is @Flinnster 's bag doing in the mean time? ![]() |

Lol, if you have a nice batch available, would love to know! If not, I'm just hoping for a future trip to Japan where I'll gather a bunch every day. OR, use Sega tokens instead, not sure if coin mechs easily take those.

The asahi mechanical mechs can be fiddly but yes you can make them read any similarly sized coin reasonably well, be it a token or here in the UK a 10p coin. I'm not sure what the closest to that is in Euro actually - probably a 50 Euro Cent I'd say. 1 Euro will be too thick.

I've heard it should be an easy fix for these mechs to make it accept Sega/Taito/Capcom etc tokens as well as still working for 100 Yen coins, should be only a matter of removing the magnet from the mech.
So I've just ordered quite a laaarge batch of Sega tokens from Japan. Should be a nice and relatively cheap option. In case anyone interested, let me know, as I'm sure I won't be needing them all :-)
