Southtown MVS Art - Extremely Poor!!

Anyone else used Southtown Homebrew for their MVS shockbox art? Please tell me if this is how they come or have I just got a bad batch.

Just received mine and the quality is abysmal. There’s ghosting all over them and the Magician Lord art is just awful.

It looks like the camera is out of focus on the image below but trust me that is what it actually looks like!

Beyond disappointed after spending £90 on this muck.

That Magician Lord logo looks terrible but rest not so much. Just an random opinion here as I don't own this thing so ignore me completely

They look pretty poor to be honest, I think the quality of their printing has certainly become variable, back in 2018 I never had any issues at all with quality, but I've seen recent prints and they are not as good, I am sure if you raise the issue they will put it right for you.

That's the good ones! Most of the big bear art (aes grey covers) are 10 plus years old. Alot of newer designs are cleaner but I prefer uniform aes style. They shouldn't accept art that isn't high res enough. You're paying enough for it.

Agreed. The ghosting is a printing issue he’s already accepted they shouldn’t be like that. The Magician Lord, which is the worst, is just very poor resolution and shouldn’t be on the site really.

I had a Garbage Pail Kids pirate video that would put this to shame.

Konami should have made a Garbage Pail Kids branded beat em up on that Turtles/Simpsons engine

The problem lies in the restoration; if the restoration isn't good, the print, no matter how good the offset press is (this should be done by an offset printing machine), won't be good.

If you're willing to pay £90, I'd like to try it and have a public critique of the result.

The company I usually work with has a professional folder for cardboard folds.

If someone helps me color-match the colors, I can create a perfect replica of the original.

I’ve always used him for mini marquees, CP vinyl etc, but had no idea he does shock box sleeves?!

I’ve always got them from Southtown, but I’d happily get all my my sleeves redone…

Very impressed with your restoration of the Magician Lord cover and you’re 100% right that the most important step is the restoration.

The only thing that would need adjusting is the NEO GEO LOGO should be at the top of the spine with a little coloured stripe.
See pic below.

If you have printing facilities and can take orders for artwork let us all know. Or if you just want to provide artwork files some kind of price list would be good.
