Hey all,

UKVAC prides is itself on being relatively light handed when it comes to moderation. We generally won’t delete your post or edit it, unless we observe spam, abuse, threats of violence, illegality or disclosure of personal information; (although rest assured there is a team of Moderators and Admin that read everything you message us or report, every single day!)
UKVAC operates a ‘three strike’ policy. This essentially means that if your behaviour is deemed ‘strike worthy’, you’ll get a strike against your membership. 3 such strikes and either a suspension, (think of this as a cooling off period...) or, if the Admin team believes your behaviour warrants it, a full ban, will be issued. UKVAC has only banned 2 members in its entire history, so we do treat this as a final measure when all other avenues have been exhausted.
Why the reason for this history lesson? Post dumping has of late become an issue on the UKVAC Forum. Member’s For Sale threads are being spoiled by people openly questioning prices, being aggressive or generally disruptive and regularly going off topic. The Admin and Moderator teams now feel that post dumping is of sufficient concern that new forum rules need to be put in place.
With immediate effect, post dumping is now classed as ‘strike-worthy’ behaviour.
Anyone posting content in any section of the forum that includes, (but is not limited to) the following post dumping examples can expect to be issued a formal warning via PM from a Moderator or Admin:

• Questioning a stated For Sale price, f the price is stupid it won't sell. If you know the person reach out to them via PM to see if they put their price wrong rather than in the FS thread
• Trolling or other toxic comments, aimed either directly or indirectly at the OP
• Aggressive or argumentative comments that are intended to spoil the purpose or intention of the original  post
• Purposely derailing a thread with off topic comments
• Discrimination in any form
• Offensive comments, implications or suggestions at the OP’s expense
• Repeated unnecessary thread bumping; once a week is fine :)
• Encouraging other members to contribute to any of the above behaviour(s)

We will be closely monitoring the forum but if as a member you feel your post has been subject to post dumping, then please feel free to report this to a Moderator.
It is unfortunate that post dumping has become such a problem and the team regret the need for such action but it is high time that we all get back to the serious business of enjoying the hobby and do not allow a small percentage of members to spoil it for the wider community.
This rule will be collectively enforced by the Admin / Moderator team to ensure a fair and unbiased implementation.

Finally, we're all adults. We all know how we want to be treated and how we need to treat others. So if we all keep it cool and be respectful we can continue to enjoy a lightly moderated forum. Admins and Moderators respect you all as adults.

We are also listening, so whilst we don't want to stop traders trading on here or posting, we will soon enforce zero points for posts in the FS section, and we will crack down on duplicate identities.

As we are all adults, I've left the replies open to this post. If there's something mindful and sensible to contribute there we're all ears!

Game on :-)

Hey, I love this place and most of those rules make complete sense, but that first one jars a bit with me:

"Questioning a stated For Sale price, where the seller has not specifically stated they will also accept offers "

Why is that a problem?

Did you actually mean "Questioning a stated For Sale price, where the seller *HAS* specifically stated they will also accept offers " ?

Because members of been dumping in for sale posts making post after post of statements challenging prices. The place to do this is in a valuation post. These sort of posts were totally derailing threads and often became agrressive and rude.

We have not come forward with these rules on a whim, we've had a lot of complaints about this
