just been playing ferrari f355, force feed back stopped operating.
led display on the force feed back board looks like 44 44 after reset looks like 22 22 wheel turns left then right then centres ok on power up.. i looked at the table of fault codes amd it says about leave off for 10 mins, as can over heat... just wondering my if anyone has any helpful info on t hi s? much appreciated i think this is error 22? ![]() not sure if it’s error 2 or error 22? tested continuity on all legs on chip amd inspection under light magnifier all visually looks fine
i have had the led displays read 11 11 also but mainly just 44 44 i have found out the the leds should read 88 88 ? so have i only got half? i have been working on this ferrari for a while now replaced two dead naomi mother boards... force feed back was fine then just stopped? wheel rolls left then right then centres on power up so motors are all fine... but in drive board test it does not respond... really want to have a go on this ferrari game so if anyone can help massively appreciate it ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Retroman839 - 23 Feb 2021 at 12:01am |

thank you flynn
i have been doing some reading up online. regarding the command line from sega ffb the analog signal seems to go from 00 00 to 88 88 so there fore 44 44 is centre or no reading at all —- dead signal or start point for reading to initiate.. so i’m deducing that i have a dead potentiometer. or loose wire ( bad connectivity ) to the potentiometer that controll’s the ffb. i will use my multi meter and try to test continuity from the ffb pot to the header that connects to the ffb controller pcb. 44 44 is no signal at all although. the steering works fine in game plays perfect. so steering pot to game io is fine. but the led displays stay at 44 44 so no readings are being picked up from the ffb pot by the controller pcb. any one got the schematics for either daytona 2 / scud race / f355 / or sega rally 2 ? as would be handy to work out where the signal path wires run from both pots? making it quicker to test signals points that are shared between pots and pcb.. hopefully the wires are colour matched. assuming a bad pot voltage input out put voltage will just be static. so i can read the pot as well? this will determine a good or bad potentiometer? If I remember correctly, there is 2 pots (but wait for someone else to chime, or you look)
1 pot - steering 1 pot - ffb So like you are thinking, the one for ffb could be disconnected / broke, which allows steering from the working one, and no ffb reading from the other. Remember you can check the ohm reading on the pot which should go to 5,000

yeh seem about right
as it’s only been played once or twice for minutes since i have had it... so i’m thinking the pot has possibly given up working... which i read somewhere is quite common |

So it was just the drive board in the end.
Did you have to buy a replacement? |

I had 2 of the Model 3 ones die due to a poor ground connection, so I now always make sure this is good before using it.
Also happened to a mates Sega Rally 2 machine, same issue. |
