Its poss one of those things you debate buying and then when you get it you wonder why u didnt buy one sooner and how u managed without it

Other thing is the software side and how difficult is it to sort the image to print it

Nice example of them was the last series of Car SOS, my memory dont get better so cant remember the car but they needed a centre cap for one wheel, so he took it to guys who scanned in original, reworked image and then printed new one, but it takes longer than you think and thats if you know the software.

Think they had 3 so just had one printed but i would of done 4 and you could see 3 originals to pay for it, once the image sorted obviously then u can do print endless supply, so you could then make printer pay for it self

Brilliant though but sorry i know nothing about them myself. Apart from the price is higher the bigger the items it can print

The issue with that printer is that lack of a heated printbed which limits what you can print with to PLA without heavily modding it.

I've got a couple of printers now, I do 3D modeling for a living so if anyone wants something making it's not a problem

It's also very fiddly getting the first layer to stick to the table, without it pulling itself off.

I think once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier. I need to practise with mine a lot more.

The prints do take a LONG time and the finish is especially poor. Very liney and you can't really improve it much afterwards.

this is one of my latest prints in ABS.. it took 20 hours! but I ran it at a good quality setting and low speed to help with the detail. It's about 6inches tall.

haha yeah. the head is fairly smooth though

here's a spool holder I printed. I think it was 0.3 layer height and it's fairly smooth. with it being ABS it'll sand easy or acetone smooth.

here's helmet I did in PLA. it was only done at "ok" quality settings as it'd ideally be all filled and sanded before painting.

I've just tried a small print tonight and (as before) I just can't get any joy out of my printer.

Any good tutorial videos someone could recommend?
I have done all the usual things with the bed levelling etc. It's driving me f**king insane!

Bad adhesion is my biggest problem.

there's some glue stick type stuff you can smear on the bed which helps to stick the first print down
or tape but I've heard the gluestick stuff is much better

I was recommended Kapton tape and gluestick for ABS with a heated bed of 90+ and blue painters tape with gluestick for pla.

On my non heated printer I had big problems with pla unless I used a brim or raft
