Restoring a cocktail table but having issues eith the psu. I am getting the + & - 12v but nothing on the 5v line. I've tested traces, fuses, diodes, transistors, reflowed solder and im at a loss. My 5v drive isn't starting. Any help is appreciated
You sound quite knowledgeable and capable of home repair , however..
To simplify the job with better reliability you should consider replacing the low ampage linear psu with an arcade match switch mode power supply with a minimum of 16Amp at the 5v output to handle most 80s game boards suitable for running in a period cocktail .. an example is shown but generally cost £15-£30
easy wire up screw terminals
AC Mains/earth in +12v. +5v -5v & Ground outputs see typical eBay model pictured
