OK, I have a TP-link wifi router connected to my EE hub (which is basically just being used for the internet connection; wifi is switched off on it). These are connected with a cat 8 ethernet cable.

If I plug into an ethernet port on the EE hub, I get a download speed of around 60 megs, but if I connect to a port on the TP-link router, I only get about half that speed. Same goes if I connect using wifi.

Anyone have any idea what the issue is?

Thanks.

Here's a few suggestions from the top of my head.

I assume you have checked file transfer on your LAN (i.e. copying a file from one machine to another to ensure you have the expected transfer speed for gigabit LAN?

If so, try this:

Check QoS for device priority and bandwidth.

Check for Internet Port Speed Negotiation, change from auto negotiation to 1000MPS Full Duplex.

Update the firmware on your router.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was tinkering when I found I couldn't log back into the router settings, so had to do a factory reset. I now seem to have full speed internet on the wired connection, but wifi is still sketchy.
