Hi. I have reason to hope that I may be getting a sexy little iPad for my birthday in the next fortnight :) and I'm looking for some (preferably) bluetooth headphones.

My ideal spec list is:

  • High quality - I don't mind paying for good stuff.
  • Bluetooth - I'd really like to be able to do this wirelessly, plus I have other BT devices which can source audio.
  • Noise cancelling - currently I will read or work in another room whilst Stink watches her (to me) moronic American dramas and shouty screamy crap like Big Brother. If I have noise cancelling cans then I can sit in the living room with her and either listen to tunes full on, or have music as low background noise and use the noise cancelling to kill any leak-through of the sound of the TV so I can read, and perhaps even study for my next set of certification! Ideally, noise cancellation so good that I can just use them as ear muffs would be awesome.
  • Comfort - I'm looking at over the ear types ideally with nice soft cups
  • Ability to go wired - about the only thing that I can't yet source BT audio from is the home cinema, for those few occasions where I'm watching TV and either want it loud, or am watching something Stinker doesn't like. Or if anybody knows of a dongle that will plug into a headphone socket and tx BT audio, that would be wicked cool :)
Looking back at that list it's more of a must have than optional just to make things nice and tricky. I also fully appreciate that this kind of thing is subjective, so I'm looking for recommendations to try. I promise not to blame anybody :)

I've seen plenty of wired solutions that have great sound as well as comfort and noise cancelling tech, but I'm a bit stuck on the BT front.

Any help much appreciated, even if it's just links to stuff that you've not tried personally.

cheers

tim

I used to use a set of Sony in ear ones for years. They were awesome. Only meet your high quality and bluetooth criteria though.

I can tell you that the Jabra one I used to use ended up in the bin as it was pants. The battery was dead every time I went to use it.

Cheers Martin - A negative recommentation is as good as a positive as I was considering one of the Jabra range.

Looks like I might be ending up with a wired set :( I want to take advantage of all this technology!

Doh. For all of my huge massive brain I never thought of that. I'll give it a try but if it ends up with 4,000 magazines being posted to me every month then you're sorting it. mmmkay?
