Anyone modded a Gamecube for USB loading?

As I am giving up the arcade stuff i need something to keep me occupied and am looking at messing with consoles - much cheaper than cabs!

I used to love my old Gamecube and have seen a few bits and pieces about loading games from USB drives - has anyone done this? I modded my original GC years ago to use back-up discs but like the idea of USB and that old GC is long gone anyway so any and all advice appreciated.

Something I wanted to try at some point, but most of the guides I could find were for the Wii rather than original GC hardware

I'm 99.9% sure that there's no way to load games over USB on a Gamecube as it never had a USB controller chip to start with. There is however software (Devolution and/or DIOS MIOS) that can load Gamecube isos from USB drive on a modded Wii.

You can run them from SD card, but then you need one of the memcard to sd adaptors.
