Best Arcade advice you received?

What is the best arcade related advice you received and who from?

Mine is easy. I was converting a candy cabinet for mame use and Victor (virtvic) told me that one of the things I must do is buy Ultimarc 4 way 8 way auto switch motor and pcb.

It is the dogs bollocks. It is not cheap but well worth it.

Set up Mala correctly and the motor and pcb will do the rest.

Thank you Victor for this advise and all the other help you have given me over that last few years.

Never lick the hole on a tube

Before plugging in any new cabinet or board you get, check, check, check, take a break then recheck everything before you switch on, switch on without PCB to make sure all voltages are within tolerance levels before plugging in PCB again and checking that its plugged in correctly, check again, then turn on. You can replace new cabinet with repaired PCB...

If you file down the edges of a 50p Coin.....
It will work in Most 10p Coin Slots....

Must be about 16 or 17 years ago I bought my first cab and the seller give me probably the best bit of 'arcade' advice I've had to date, get a multi meter. He showed me how to check and adjust the +5 and to test for continuity, I still don't use one for much else. Loads of other great folks have helped me out over the years but that simple bit of advice has no doubt helped me the most.
