Best arcade cab

Ok, thinking about a little project that isn't quite arcade game related, aside from the game/artwork what would you consider to be the best arcade machine shape/style through the years? I'm guessing the Ninty or Williams cabs may get the most love here

Oh pref woodies as that is what is available for making things

Used for that and Crystal Castles and a few other protos like Firebeast.

I'm thinking more along the lines of DK or galaxian cabs, was toying with the idea of making a scaled version as a PC case.

That's an interesting idea. Would you scale it keeping the ratios correct or chop some of the height?

Oll posted a picture of a REALLY sweet looking cab in the cool arcade pix thread - Sentinel. I think that'd look nice if you could repro it but again it's not really PC case friendly shaped.

I would scale best as possible, smaller sticks etc would be harder though, fire and P1 button can be power and reset though conscessions will prob have to be made for cooling etc (not a low end rig), just the thought for now, will have to be a cab I can find plans for too.

Getting back on topic

I'd say the obvious choice for style for me is full size Tempest. Superb combination of shape and colours.
I also like the Taito cabs, a nice simple design and very serviceable. And god knows you need it to be serviceable when you're running a Qix.
