So for the sake of learning I picked this up pretty cheap being told that the graphics start glitching and sometimes settle down.

As usual slow and steady wins the race so expect updates once a year when I get time 😂

As it stands now, it's looking like this, not gotten around to tweaking the monitor incase it's just that, don't want to knock it out as I'll be playing a bit of MVS later and it's tuned for that ATM.

Initial look at the board, theres a big chunk out of a PALCE16V8H-25PC top left which can't be good.

Audio seems as good as it'll get on a bootleg too (vid attached - edit can't post vid!)

Those CPS1 bootlegs are about the worst to fault find. The boards don't follow the original schematics at all, and are covered in PAL chips that you can't know the functions for without a lot of messing about. Slight graphic glitches are common, RAM chips are all soldered in, I normally just assume they were like that from new and give up. Still, at least they are just a single PCB.
Leave it on soak test for a while, see if you can identify the problem and if you need any of the PALs, PM me your address, I'll dig out my scrap board and see if those chips are still there.

Thanks cliff, yeah I'm taking this one as a bit of a playground to be honest, if I get anything out of it I'll be happy enough 👍
