I'm changing cars soon. The next one doesn't have a built in sat nav. What is a good recommended purchase for iphone?

Didn't know whether to invest in a sat nav device or just use the blowa.

Depends what iPhone. Navfree is free and works well apart from the occasional voice telling you it is the second exit off the roundabout instead of the third exit (which can be a real pain, the map is correct though, just the voice occasionally wrong). However, TomTom is only £27.49 and is definitely one of the best.

If you have a 3g/4/4S then it is pretty cheap to get a Tomtom holder from ebay (this one - make sure it has the adaptor for the 4/4s version, I can see this one does in the picture) . They usually end up about £24 including post on ebay and they have an external speaker, charge the iphone while driving and have a built in GPS booster which works really well. It can also be used as a handsfree kit via bluetooth but I haven't set that up on my one. The added bonus is that the adaptor works with any iphone satnav software, you are not limited to using TomTom software.

SatNav shouldn't use much data - I use it on my iPhone 5 (4G on EE) once or twice a week, and never reach my 500GB limit).

After using the iPhone nav, I'd never go back to a stand alone unit, it's just so much better - and I'm saying that as someone who generally dislikes Apple stuff.

Mark.

What do you use?
