Hi Guys,

Just after some advice. I use Ebay all the time and to be fair have never had a bad experience, and still haven't really.........

But I recently bought a beautiful condition Dreamcast console which arrived yesterday and whilst it is all sparkly white on the outside, it just doesn't read the discs. Whatever, I know they are prone for this.

PM'd the seller and he is spot on and happy to refund.

So, do I simply send it back to him and await his refund - which I'm sure he will, seems honest seller.

Or do I officially open a case with Ebay, to have some kind of fall back in case he doesn't refund me?

Thoughts and thanks.

Neil.

If you're going to return, I'd be inclined to open a case. As you say, it'll give you cover if needed. If the seller is sound, he shouldn't mind. Just message him to advise him of your intentions.

Defo open a case, when I have had to return the seller accepts the request and eBay emails return postage label. I just print off and take to post office . it's tracked and eBay refunds. Return postage covered by seller.

DO NOT OPEN A CASE UNTIL YOU HAVE FIRST MESSAGED THE SELLER.

The ebay rules are very clear and if you open a case before this, you are in breach of the rules and the seller can basically tell you to fork off, remove negs and generally make your day rather sh*tty.

Message first
Case second
