Fighting stick recommendations

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good fighting stick?
preferably one that would work on various consoles (Xbox one, PS4 and switch if possible)

My son has saved some money and would like to buy one but after having a look at them online we are still not sure on which one to get.

Ive use Razer Panthera which is what majority of players use for competitive play as it works on PC/PS4 and majority of competitive fighting games are played on PS4.

These sticks are expensive around £100+ but there the top of the game.

I upgraded from a Venom Arcade stick which you can pick up for around £40+ on eBay, though this is PS3/PS4... which I will be listing soon once I find it in my loft!

Venom also do a multi format stick which is a bit more put will do PS4/PC/XBOX I understand... so that might be what your after but that's around £65

However with both venom sticks you may want to upgrade buttons and stick to better parts depending on usage. I upgraded my venom to Sanwa and Seimitsu parts, but the default is fine for casual play.

As far as I'm aware not one stick will cater for all consoles unless you use things like brooke adaptors which are around £30 per console.

The only one I have any experience with recently is the Hori Real Arcade Pro 4. I don't know if it does cross platform though, maybe with adapters. It's a brilliant stick. I think they only ever make them in small runs though, so they sell out then the price doubles on the 2nd hand market. I'd happily spend £100 on one, but not £200.

I'm sure the moment i tell him what the 'pros' use he will ask me for that one but wow, how much are they....

He's only 12 and I'm sure he will use it for 5 mins and then find something else he wants to play. I will look into the venom stick, it would help if it works on all the consoles as my daughter loves playing the switch and would probably find some use for it.
