Help needed with consoles to Ikegami monitor

Hi guys,

Asking this for a friend who has an Ikegami TM20-20RP broadcast monitor.

He hasn't used it yet, but wants to connect up some retro consoles -

Sega Saturn, Original XBox, Playstation etc. He connects all of these to TV's via SCART at the moment.

He's asked me what cables he needs, but I'm not sure either.

Is it BNC to SCART ones? If so, can anyone recommend exactly which type to get and a reliable seller.

That looks like Sync on Green, so I'm not sure where you'd get the correct BNC adapter. The ones from Retro Gaming Cables are R/G/B/Sync.

Initially I used some phono to bnc adaptors (https://uk.farnell.com/pro-signal/secon14/adaptor-phono-skt-bnc-plug/dp/3706722?) and various rgb or component out cables (as you'd hook up consoles to some older LCD/Plasma TV's) The RGB sync is separate - it's in the video input section to the right of the RGB/Component inputs.

you can get some pre-made cables. e.g. this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0050HNJW4/ ive used component out and RGB out from my PS/2, and component out from an original xbox.

As I have scart cables for most of my RGB-capable consoles eventually I just wired a scart socket to the back of it. Can still use composite for sh*tty things that don't have native RGB.

I've got the same monitor for my retro consoles, in fact I have two

I tend to use a sync strike combined with a vga to bnc cable, works like a champ on everything so far, add in a decent scart switcher to save having to unplug each cable and your set

As Grobda states, the extra sync connector is hooked up to the appropriate connector to the right, also make sure external sync is enabled on the Ikegami front panel

There may be cheaper options but this has worked for me on everything I've tested so far, also meant I could keep my old console cables (at least the rgb ones)

. I have just downloaded for my mate.

So, the syncstrike thing looks pretty good, but ideally he's not looking to pay as much as that would cost, especially after importing. Anyone got a cheaper solution?

Didn’t spot the sync over on the right! The PVM cable from retrogamingcables should see you right then!
