. I thought they were now secure with their customer base.

HMV is always too expensive for anime and blu rays I buy, but with rent, Business Rates, salaries etc no wonder they cant compete with internet companies and provide good deals.

E.g. Death Note blu ray on sale at Zavi for £19.99. HMV £39.99. I'm all for saving the high street but 100% more expensive, just cant pay that

For anybody who has friends or family working there, I wish them all the best and hope it gets saved once again and a sustainable business model is implemented

A lot of their stores have a massive footprint in high street locations - they are hugely over spaced, can’t be cheap at all to maintain. Sad times though, the high street needs variety to get folk out shopping

I was amazed that anyone chose to bail them out last time.

This situation was always coming - take a look at any of their stores - they just don't know what they want to be.

Sad for all concerned, but in an increasingly digital world, these physical stores were always living on borrowed time. How much longer can Game survive?
