I sold a NEO GEO AES and I stated on the listing that what ever the bid ends at I will send it insured for that amount

well I did and on Monday it showed as DELIVERED

the buyer emailed me now after 2 days saying he has not got it and it was supposed to go to his DADs house

well a few things to take note here

He messaged me and not opened a claim with PAYPAL or EBay
He then goes on to say my dad didn't sign for anything so how can they prove it was delivered (These days couriers just deliver and mark as delivered they don't really get a sig. well collect plus and Hermes don't)

I have opened a claim with courier but im starting to think, he is pulling a fast one as it was £220. He has not opened a claim with EBay and then mentions my dad didn't sign for anything. he basically knows eBay will reject his claim and wants me to make a private claim outside eBay. he reckons just cause his dad didn't sign for the package then its not classed as delivered.

I post a lot of stuff here and on eBay and its funny how a high value item goes missing yet a Atari 2600 sold for £20 posted on the same day arrived on that same Monday and buyer messages me saying Thanks. plus all the low value BIOS chips I sell not one has gone missing and they get popped into a letter box with a stamp on it.

Thank god I took pictures of the parcel before shipping it off so I have all the proof it was send and posted and the tracking shows it being delivered

Just ignore that guy until he gets serious and goes through the right 'eBay channels'.
Then play by the eBay rules - what's his feedback score? Can you see his previous purchases?

If it were me I would always contact the seller before i filed a claim tbh, see whats going on. If its a scam you seem to have all the proof.

If it's collect plus, you can pay an extra £1 for signature, and this will cover you for ebay/paypal. Without signature, then you'll have to claim with courier. Tricky. Hope it gets sorted

Did the person have a different address on ebay to their Paypal account address, this has happened in the past with me, sometimes people move and don't update one of the addresses. I have also had sellers send things to my home address and not my work one (which comes up on paypal as delivery), luckily I will get it at either. Sounds like you have all evidence though should it go pear.

Make a claim with service you used as it only take a few minutes to fill in forms.Let them do the leg work.
Send a copy of your claim form to EBay via a message to buyer to cover yourself.
If they pay out send um refund and failed delivery will be logged with EBay.
Whatever they do, do your end right.
It's always hard to do the right thing when you know your getting done over, but worth it in the end.
Ask yourself, what would Yodo do?

Nice one, glad your sorted.
Did you file with EBay about buyer not receiving / trying it on?
Get it logged so if they do it again EBay know they have form.Thefro92014-06-20 13:03:20

I would have filed a Crime Report with the police for theft as someone has stolen the item somewhere along the way, I wouldn't had relied on the Courier coughing up the money as I think a similar thing happen to someone via DHL and they didn't want to know, the guy even got a Solicitor's letter issued to DHL who stalled on the matter...all very weird
