Mortal kombat 2 - not able to play properly (stuck/switching characters etc)

After doing some troubleshooting on a MK2 board I bough as faulty I somewhat have it up and running after socketing uj11, jumping wires from MAX691 Vout to UJ11 VCC and also jump a trace between UJ19 and UJ20 (roms) it reports no errors, and it also says the cmos checks out. The attract mode seem to play, and I can do all diagnostics tests etc.

However sometimes I'm not able to press start button and get it to start, other times it will start a game, but you can't move, or you can move and play 1 round, before it changes your player to the same as the opponent it seem and you might get to somewhat play round 2 before all is stuck on round 3 again (both you and the CPU just stand there).

From the schematic (if I understand it correctly) there should be a low resistance trace from pin 6 og UG7 to pin 27 of UJ11, on my board it seem to be more or less broken (very high resistance) - may this stuff cause such behaviours ?.

Any tips on what one might check out would be appreciated.

I rechecked the traces and the trace from ug7 to uj11 is actually ok.

The game just seem to give some strange behaviours - if I get to start a game a character can just appear in the middle of the screen saying "I'm smoke" before it "crashes",

If anyone had any similar problems feel free to chime in :)
