Hi

Can someone please help me out? I have a 1 slot MVS installed in my NAC and would like to use the 4th button D which for some reason doesn't work only the top 3 are working.

I have a kick harness for CPS2 boards if that is something I am able to use?

Thanks in advance :)

Where have you got the 4th Button connected to? Does your 1p harness have the extra wire fit the 4th button?

The cps2 kick harness is no good for this purpose

I use this JAMMA adapter with the CPS kick harness adapter.

yeah you’ll need the 4th button off your 12 pin 1p cable for MVS. Check to see if it has a spare wire kicking about under the control panel.

Yep this. The most simple way I can think of is to create a custom wire link from the button 4 pin on your kick harness socket to the button 4 pin on the Jamma edge. That should be harmless for the vast majority of Jamma PCBs but easily enable button 4 on MVS and PGM.

No need to do that. Button 4 is already wired in to the jamma harness on a NAC. You just need an extra wire in the 1p harness for button 4. Pin 9 on the 1p harness

Hi All

Thanks for the responses and advice, I have attached a screenshot of under the bonnet if that helps.

Do I need something plugged into the forth plug from the left as currently buttons 4,5,6 for player 1 and 2 are wired to the CPS2 kick harness which I have wrapped around the left lever and if i plug this into a CPS2 board it works perfectly.

thanks

NO... its the 1p harness you need to add the extra wire (2nd from left in your photo). Look at the picture i attached.

Unplug that connector and look at the wire colours compared to the diagram

It looks like your 1p/2p 12 pin harnesses are only wired for 3 buttons. For MVS you need it wired for 4. Your options at this point are sticking another wire in pin 9 on your 12 pin harnesses then jumping the ground with another wire. Getting a 4 button harness, or running a wire straight from the JAMMA edge to button 4 then jumping your ground again. I wouldn’t really recommend option 3 there though.

Hi both

After I posted the picture i checked again and the wires don't correspond to the diagram above, is that for a Sega Naomi? Mine is a Sega New Astro City or they the same. Also checking it again something is in the 1p harness already in pin 9 and is a black wire

thanks

This is one of my NAC that is currently setup for GEOGEO / IGS PGM

unplug your 1p harness and look at the back of the plug where the wires go in.

you need an extra wire for button 4 ( bottom right wire in this photo)

you then connect this to one terminal on your button 4, and a negative wire to the other contact on button 4 ( you can connect to the rest of the negative loop going to the rest of the buttons)

Hi Davey

Thanks I checked my other 1 player control panel and that had a wire already in the plug in pin 9 so tested using that and a negative from player 2 and it worked

Do you know where i can get the wires so i can connect my 2 player control panel up? Do they just push in the plug end?

thanks again

Hi

Can you confirm if the other end of the cable opposite to the spade connector on the button just pulls out of the plug or would I need to buy a new cable with it already wired and plug?

thanks :)

Ive got a few of these wires spare from old control pan harnesses ive stripped in the past.

They have the crimped pin one end ( that pushes into the plug) and the spade connector at the other end in the plastic housing
