Hi...

I bought myself an ArcadeSD multi-game board from the US which is still at customs and the thread i was following for it on another forum I've been banned from it seems... if any of you are a member of KLOV could one of you PM me some details i was using for reference, was info on audio-pin outs etc and stuff like this, i had the posts on that thread bookmarked and they are below:

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/show...postcount=1397
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/show...postcount=1552
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/show...postcount=1380
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/show...postcount=1226

I donated to that forum just a couple of weeks ago and was doing fine, seems i upset someone there i just don't know, but my access to that ArcadeSD thread is denied, so if one of you could be so kind as to regurgitate the info for me I'd be most grateful, either here or via PM, thanks

If i have been banned from that thread i was offered no explanation, anyway cheers
Oh i was on as Bond007, cheers

I just clicked your links and got a message saying i don't have permissons to access it - so it looks like it is global rather than just yourself so i wouldn't worry about that side of it. I can still access everything else ok...

these are copied and pasted from the site in the order you gave the links in,so the first copy and paste is from the first link so on and so forth:

this should probably be added to the troubleshooting section of the manual. I just ran into the same issue. The JAMMA harness I was using had wires for buttons 4 and 5 on those pins. Player two's controls would cause the ArcadeSD to freeze, even though nothing was connected to said wires.

haven't got a clue... if someone could walk me... I'd be happy, thank you.

+5 volt lead from your power supply (or a spare one from the Jamma connector that leads to a connected trace from the supply)
|
v
220 ohm or greater resistor (make sure you use it otherwise you WILL fry the LED in the rare buttons)
|
v
+5 connector on the lighted button (it is marked with a + for LiCon (bally/midway swiches, not sure about Cherry made Atari ones)

Then for the negative lead on the LED. This connectors the the ones labeled 'LED Current Sink' in the ArcadeSD manual. These are the coin lockout connectors on the Jamma connector. I have 2 ArcadeSD's set up like this

Audio header-- Pin 4 is closest to the JAMMA cardedge:

Pin 1: no connection
Pin 2: audio left
Pin 3: audio ground
Pin 4: audio right

You might need to tweak the audio levels either with a preamp or a potentiometer depending on your audio amplifier.

As for the add-on, we really just need to get more ArcadeSD boards out in the field so that something like the add-on would be able to sell in a reasonable number even if only ~5-10% of people buy it. (Otherwise it's hard to justify spending the time getting it done if we'd only sell 10 of them or whatever.)

ignore most of this thread for now unless you have a specific problem, or need to report a problem.

1- make sure your jamma cabinet is all wired up properly with whatever joysticks and buttons you want. even cheap microswitch joysticks are fine.
1a-you need a test button, so make sure you have the red wire at 15 on the jamma harness wired to a button that is easy to hit outside the cab.
2- just +5v is needed, from a simple power supply.
3-make sure your jamma harness doesn't have wiring at spot c-25 and d-26
4-follow the instructions for setting up the pcb like the 2G SD card and the licensing.
5-go to this site for the proper roms and set yourself up for email notifications of updates and new games- http://destross.com/romsets/
6-put your pcb in the jamma cabinet and have fun.
7-wait for the next quarterly update of new games added to the pcb.

Also, if you make your control panel easy to open up or replace, you can change out the configurations to play defender, or robotron, future-tutankham, etc.

BONUS-8 way joysticks play 4 way and 2 way games very well on the arcadeSD, which is really nice.
so you can play pacman, moon patrol, or frenzy without changing anything or having to get a fancy 49 way optical joystick.

Artwork for the top was done (cost £55) sticky-back mat-laminate, just got to get the main board and then do the wiring.

Yeah. It's a bit of an odd policy that has caused problems. It's the 'new' traders for sale section. Members need 30 posts to access that part of the forum. Apparently there's a guy that started a for sale thread which then got moved into this new restricted part of the forum. He has less than 30 posts so now can't access his own thread ....

Well at least i can take some solace, i thought i was banned, removed access for something i said... trying to work out...why? now i know this and it makes me feel better, but because I'm new at KLOV i have to make 20+ more posts to view the support thread which was commonly used for owners of the ArcadeSD board for which i am one, I'll just have to try and get by without them or make up my post count with useless posts... but I'm not going to do that seeing as i donated.

Apparently you need to make 100 posts now... I'll never make it.

The ArcadeSD people need their own support forum for paying customers, under the rules of that forum legitimate members are now denied some level of support, holding the devs of that board hostage and everyone else under their new forum rules.

I can view the thread in question now as they have moved the sections around or are sorting out post-counts etc, i don't know how long it'll last before i find myself outside the gates screaming... hello? need some help... :)
