Neo Geo AES - Darksoft Mulit cart

Hi All,
Considering buying a 2nd hand Darksoft AES Multi Cart cart and wondered people’s experiences with them and if recommended overall?

I have the MVS version, works great and the main thing is he is always available on his forum.

I've got the MVS version.

Not that impressed with it really. Sound channels randomly cut out. The help says to try different MVS mobos and/or power supplies. Does the same no matter what I try.

Not the only person to have it happen reading on the forum.

To be fair, I've not tried all troubleshooting tips yet. Got one cab left to try it in with a Happ Power Pro PSU, which supposedly can supply a higher current which should sort it. I'm not optimistic...

Sounds like you have a faulty one, only tried mine on 1 slots but a few different ones and all ok.

i also have the NeoSD version, that one seems pretty good too. But… I do tend to just use original carts.

I previously picked up Darksoft’s CPS2 and CPS3 and impressed with both also like you say there is aftercare and support if needed .
I picked up an AES last year and would be nice to open the catalogue up at home !

Take the multi 161 in 1
and fill it with clean rom set
Plus more !

Hy all, I am wondering if it would be possible to reverse engineer the 161 in 1 cartridge. they are cheap, but the game list is not incredible. so the idea would be to be able to understand how it works and replace some of the games with better ones... any idea if it has already been done ...

I followed it in development during COVID..
161 ver 3 was under £100 back then when i picked mine up .
Sadly shot up after this multi mod became avalible.

I thought a second wave of normal priced 161 ver 3 multi carts would emerge by now but not yet .

Thanks for your advice chaps much appreciated.
Think I will go with the Darksoft option in next couple of weeks. In my searching I noticed eBay is awash with AES converts from Japan.
