Hi All,

I tried one of these today with using the !Arcade! Phantom 1 convertor (the blue later version) on my Neo-Geo home AES Japanese console running at 60hz (full screen). It worked perfectly and I tested Viewpoint, Blazing Star, Prehistoric Isle 2, Last Resort, Strikers 1945, Zed Blade, Puzzle Bobble, Robo Army and Metal Slug X. All appeared to be 100% perfect in graphics and sound. I have seen mixed reviews about these multi cartridges but now they are around £60 new on Ebay they do seem a bargain. I have been a Neo-Geo fan since around 1992 but strangely enough not really into beat 'em up though! I noticed that some of my favourite Neo-Geo games were not listed in the 161 menu eg. Nam-1975 and Windjammers, not sure why and I did notice the menu contains many "bootlegs" which do not appeal to me.

I would be interested in your views.

Cheers

The 161 in 1 cart is very good for the price, I think you only get about 97 real games and the rest are hacks but again for the price it really is a bargain, also some games dont work correctly, one example of this is Aero Fighters 3, it works if your region is set to JAPAN but if its set to USA then you get weird graphic glitches etc. due to them overwriting some code for their button combo to escape back to the menu (it may be the other way around but either way).

No multicart out there has all Neo Geo games on it and alot of them are repeated across the various multi's so you cant just buy 3 different multi's to get all the games.

If you really want all the games for a good price you need to look at one of the proper flash cart such as the NeoSD, this is a flash cart that allows you to add your own games, homebrew etc.

They do an AES and MVS version.

They are a bit pricey at 400+ Euros but they are a bargain when you consider most uncommon AES games go for more than that and the same for some of the rare MVS titles.

Here is the link to the webshop

I have no affiliation with them but I know they do provide good support.

There is another competing Flash Cart by DarkSoft but I have not seen many reviews and it appears to have a couple of graphics problems at the moment which im sure will be fixed but the NeoSD is the one I would recommend at this time.

Thanks for the advice. I paid £60 for my "yellow" 161 multi MVS cart. I have played a few games so far including Metal Slug X which looked and sounded 100% perfect so I am impressed with it to be honest.
