Hi all,

I've been a member of the fb group for a couple of weeks and thought I'd sign up here too.
I've always wanted my own cab and around 6 weeks ago I got given one.
It had the vertical 60 in 1 board in it which was quickly replaced with a wrestlefest jamma and a gbs8200 to use the lcd screen the cab came with.
I also replaced the jamma harness as someone had cut out some of the wires which weren't used ( all 2p controls gone, no video rgb or sync).

I also have some boards to repair so I'll probably be asking for advice at some point when I hit an inevitable brick wall.

Looking forward to learning and seeing other people's collections/projects.

Cheers,

Paul.

Welcome to the ‘vac :)

What boards are in the queue for repair?
Many thanks :D

Cadillacs(bootleg), Gals Panic(Original), one look at the Gals Panic board tells me what's likely wrong.
There is an IC standing on it's edge just behind the JAMMA edge connector, labeled as Kaneco I/O Jamma MC-8282 038.
It looks like it's had some heat.
There's also a socket rom that's been piggybacked which I don't really understand. Why would anyone piggyback a rom instead of just replacing it?
I need to pull that and see if my T48 will read it.
I also have an unknown board which boots to Japanese writing (much like my working wrestlefest board does) but then changes resolution and my monitor shows no signal where as wrestlefest cuts to the tile screen at this point o it's possibly a sync/video issue. (best guess).
I think there is an EEPROM missing also as there is an empty socket which is showing signs of abuse so it clearly had something in it at one point.

I'm looking forward to getting stuck into them, I'm currently in the middle of wiring a bar top arcade cab to use for testing and working on the broken boards.

Welcomes !

Got given one !!!! Lucky so and so !! Stick some picks up , Always nice to see others cabs.

Dave.
Many thanks.
It came from a friend of mine who runs a pub. He just wanted rid so he could get more stuff in his shed.
It was likely a nice thing in its day but it's got a few dinks and scrapes and most of the T-molding is looking a little... previously enjoyed shall we say..
I will post some pictures when it's a bit further along cosmetically, I need to make a new bezel after flipping the screen from vertical to horizontal.
It's just empty space around the monitor at the moment.
I also need to replace the panel that holds the controls.
It's single player at the moment, 3 button. I'm going to make a new one and fit 2 sticks, 6 button.
The JAMMA harness I fitted from Ebay looks like it's suitable for JAMMA and CHAMMA.
I found a pandoras box going cheap the other day so I thought I'd give that a go.

If all 6 buttons work out of the box then great. If not I'll cobble something together :)

Paul.
