Nintendo wii power supply. info neeeded

I been told that you can use any poer supply on the wii seen some info awhile back about using any power supply on any region ie jap wii uk power supply is this true as the power block is not on the wii but in the power brick??

I've got a jap wii coming but no power supply so wanted to know if i can use my uk power supply on it.

had a lot of people saying yes and some saying no

but i saw something say you can the power unit not in the wii and as with any of the old gaming console with a power brick can due to the power birck being the power unit.

make sense as you can use a mega drive power supply on pc engine etc
