Hi all,

Has anyone ever replaced the florescent bulb in a new net city/naomi?

I read that you can wire in a t8 Led tube.

Just take out the ballast and starter?

I saw these here

But ideally wanted a light that is both 110v and 220v (for both my cabs that run off different voltages)

I just can't seem to find the right ones.

Any help appreciated
Thankyou
Adam

I have two NNC, on one I replaced the bulb like you looking to do....

On the other as I have it in tate mode the bulb seemed to cause interference with the monitor sometimes so I decided to do something different and I wired in a USB hub that runs off the cabs 100v and plugged a usb light strip to run of it,...works great and prob uses a lot less electricity too...

Edit,..just realised your looking at a LED bulb that run off the original fitting instead of using an original neon bulbs....yeah my solution of wiring a usb hub and putting one of those magnetic strip USB bulbs is a variation of that idea I guess, using the existing fitting is prob a lot easier and one I should have thought of lol...

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

Yes one of the NNC is in Tate mode, I presume the LED wont cause interference?

Hoping the LED bulb also reduces the inrush of current to the cab which has been causing me some issues with tripping. Since I disconnected the (working) neon bulb, it hasnt been tripping.

Yeah the LED bulb should be fine as im pretty sure it was the neon bulb/starter that was causing the interference for me......when I say I replaced the bulb on the other one, it was with a Neon bulb not a LED bulb being talked about here...

I didn't realise there was a drop in solution that can use the original fitting, good to know for the future...

Thanks all again. FYI the company above didn't have any stock after I ordered , so I bought these

2 x Tungsram 93076819 - 2ft (600mm) 8w 3000k Warm White 100-240v LED Tube (made by GE)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402479997413

I've put one in the NNC without ballast and it was a simple swap of bulbs. Works and looks great. It comes with the led starter tube aswell.

How it looks :

Going to try it on my jap NNC and (I guess) bypass the ballast next.

Thanks again

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but all the links have longtime failed.
Is there a LED solution available that is a drop in solution that can use the original fitting.

Also the light cover is orange, but anyone tried a red led inside? Just want it to glow more red.
There is a red light cover (which came on new city tekken, but think finding htis will be hard now).

I would just use any LED strip with a sticky back and then put it wherever the original fitting was. If it was a fluorescent tube, then literally just weave it around the tube holders. Heck, if you'd like a slightly more 'natural' light to it then get one with a lower number (whatever that 6500 number is) and if you want red, well ... buy red ... or better yet, buy RGBW so that you can literally dial it in to make the orange light be whatever you like!

New LED tubes usually come with a dummy starter so just get the right size & drop it in.

I had to replace the one in my loft with LED.

On my Lindy I took out the starter when I put in the LED & didn't have a dummy & its been working fine ever since years now.

I wasn't actually talking about tubes ... I was literally talking about the cheap LED strip lights ... ... unless of course you weren't reacting to what I'd said, Chihiro ... in which case, IGNORE ME! 😅
