Original Xbox Softmod to play NTSC games

Hey,

Is softmodding an original Xbox the best way to play NTSC games?

I currently have an Xbox with coinops installed (purchased from someone on Jammaplus many years ago and still works great!) could I softmod this? is it easy for a beginner?

If it’s running coin ops it should already be soft modded or hard modded.

You need to run Enigmah Video Mode Switcher to change the console to NTSC. When you do this, in the settings screen you will see 720p and 1080i added.
From what I remember anyway.

I managed to pick up a cheap game off eBay (£3 for a brand new sealed Xbox game) and it worked! Thanks for your help, it saves me buying another Xbox.

I was a PS2 and PC buy back then but have to say, I'm gutted to this day I didn't get in on the Xbox at the time, it's one of my favourite systems now.
