Having just come home from the pub, and in a cheery state, I thought I'd
share with you a funny one from a potential eBay purchaser.

I bought a bunch of BRAND NEW HP photo scanners from the USA and I'm
knocking them out on UK eBay:

His question concerning the auction was...

How the hell am I supposed to answer that?

Apart from the obvious "I'm trying to extract as much financial benefit from
your pocket as possible whilst giving you as little in return that I can get
away with", I'm open to sensible (or maybe less so) suggestions about what
to say to this punter to get him to buy my stuff.

Maybe someone out there has a connection with this kind of mind, and can
help me close the sale with him.

I am selling these because I know my customers at ebay really like a bargain
so perhaps you will too ? (sensible answer)

When I bought these I was contracted to purchase qty x as I need only 1 the
rest are surplus to my requirements
so you have a chance here and now to purchase just one or all... a much
better deal than I had (sensible answer)

I am selling these for cash because where I live scanners are not considered
legal tender

I am selling these for cash because I cant fit them in my wallet

I heard a voice in my head saying buy buy buy me... now it says sell sell
sell me

because Don Lancaster says only sell on ebay what you can hold out at arms
length (alt.marketing.online.ebay) and this fits the bill

I'd reply:
"I bought a box of these to take advantage of a bulk price.
Myself and 4 friends are now the proud owners of a high quality
product for way less than the UK street price, and I am selling
the remaining units to make my money back.
I hope that answers your question, many thanks for your email!"
