I was just thinking, I often watch PCBs on ebay just to see how much they end up going for, out of curiosity. You'd think this would make me good at evaluations, but the problem is I never record the information.

If you put a table in the back end database with fields, game name, date, end price, postage cost. I'd be happy to populate it with information if a front end were available.

Good idea. I think you'd also need to add fields for working/non working/partially working (tested/untested) and original/bootleg though, as they affect the final price of any sale.

As sad as it may be I have actually done this.

I have a list of every cab and pcb sold on all the forums and eBay for 18 months from mid 2011 to the end of 2012. The list is on an old laptop that died so I stopped updating it, but the HD is fine so I just need to pull the list off there.

It notes (B) for bootleg, (NW) for non-working, cabs have a condition rating as well just a (P) for poor, and an (M) for mint. Everything else is 'Average'.

It's all in a big text file so could be entered in to a proper format if someone want to do it.

Great idea. Forum prices are often more attractive and 'sensible' because they are not subject to shilling and rarely, to greed, so (and I have not given the answer any thought yet) there has to be a variable applied to stop artificially inflating prices or make it clear what the 'forum' price is versus the EBay price. With any potential solution though, there will always be people who simply join, find the EBay price and put their shizz directly on there and add nothing to the scene. I guess that's unavoidable.

cliff, if it's something you would be interested in maintaining if the 'backend' was there as it were, I am sure we can come to some arrangement! I would imagine it would probably need a team of people really and/or some automation as well though.

Yes, I envisaged that is would be a few selected people that would input the information, to stop corruption (as suggested), and accidental duplicate entries.

I'd be happy to volunteer, like I say, I generally trawl through the coin-op section of ebay most days anyway. I am currently being made redundant too, so will probably have a bit of time on my hands soon (hopefully not for too long

I found the old laptop in a cupboard so pulled the hard drive with the price list on and took a backup, so I now have the list. It's got pins, cabs & pcb's - some of the prices will make you wince given this was only 2 years ago!

I'll stick up a new thread with it later
