Slightly off the wall question that despite hrs of searching the web I’ve been unable to answer.. bare with me here..
I’m updating my modified racing cabs from original xbox to PS3..
Before I buy all the equipment and consoles etc I had a thought that could open up my machines to three generations of PlayStation games?
Launch model Pal 20gig and 60gig have ps2 hardware inside them to allow backwards compatibility. Unlike the later ps3 consoles that emulate ps2 gaming
PS3 has a few LAN games such as grid etc that could be good for linked cabinets however ps2 lan titles are readily found and have a more “arcade” feel to the gameplay and graphics..
So here’s the question (sorry for the bush beating)
Can you take two lan ps3 launch models and run a lan PS2 game? A ps2 game in each console?
The ps1 had ilink etc and I know ps1 games will play in a ps3 too but would this even lan?
Could get best of many variables this way?
Anyone have the hardware necessary to try this out for me?
Thanks
