Reading amstrad discs

id like to look at some code I wrote 30 years sgp that's stored on amstrad discs. my amstrad has a dead drive. is there an easy way to get this data.

I don't even know if the discs are still readable. but I'd like to look back at the z80 stuff I wrote to give me a refresher.

If it helps you (don't know if it does), I have a working 6128 with working 3" and 3.5" discs. I'm guessing I could copy them for you? Or I guess I could just get them on to an emulator or disc image format or something...

Do you have any idea what is wrong with your drive?

If it is the common belt issue you can get a belt kit. Maybe consider getting a kit that includes head cleaning stuff too so you can do that whilst in there.

Thats all that was up with my drive when I got it and it does make more sense to spend the money on that rather than spending it on posting discs that could get lost or damaged in transit...

You can hook the CPC 3" drive up to a PC, if you've still got a PC hanging around with a floppy connector on the mobo.
