Restored faith in PS4

Of late the only peeps playing on my PS4 have been the kids on Minecraft, I really fell out with the console, I guess I just want simple 'pick up and play' games, not something that is going to take over every waking minute trying to end a campaign. Crikey, it's bad enough when you switch it on and have to wait for the inevitable 'updates' to take place before you can play anything.

And don't get me started on the ridiculous 'premium' releases that Sony have churned out on the PSPlus monthly bundles........

However the time for redemption appears to be on us - or at least it does if you like arcade racers !!! OMG !!

So, is anyone playing this months PS+ serving on the PS4 - Table Top Racing. I think it is absolutely brilliant. Reminds of playing Micro Machines with my mates bitd. Great physics, great tracks, lots of secrets to find, over the top cars. Pick up, play, smile (a lot) put down. Rinse - repeat.

Also Trackmania is possibly one of the best arcade racers I've played on a modern console (also PS4) for a long time. The sense of speed and the drifting mechanics are so playable.

I grabbed Table Top Racing the other day, only played the first track but it does seem rather good for a PS+ freebie.

Rather good indeed. Admittedly it is right up my bag, but as far as PS+ stuff goes it is amazing with a heap of tracks (admittedly there is only half a dozen core tracks, with different variants as you progress), but I'm a sucker for finding all the hidden coins, etc and it has these a plenty.

Buy the drift wheels and kick the back end out !!! Let's go racing!!

TBH I haven't even looked at whether it has an online multi player but if it does, it would be great to get a few on from here.

With a wheel and pedals, I guess? I found it rock with the controller.

Nah ps4 is in living room. Would be great to hook up in a wide screen driving cab

If you are looking for a quick fix with a retro feel on PS4 then try platformer Rogue Legacy - most games last about 5 minutes (about 10p worth) and they are old school HARD - but with a sense of progression and lots to unlock and level up with each try. Proper 16 bit style graphics as well!

Been playing this on and off for over a year.

My mate works for playrise the company that made table top racing, he's a member here (nocomply). He did all the cars.
