Bought 2 copies of winter gold many years ago with the intention of converting one to starfox 2 back when the beta rom was leaked. never tried then as the surface mount rom put me off.

had another look when the rom was released from the snes mini and bought an adapter to use a 27c801;

A bit of a pain to solder and it didn't work initially so I shelved it for a while.

Today I did a bit of continuity testing and found a7 wasn't connected, despite the eprom pin having continuity to the cartridge PCB, but the trace disappeared under the eprom adapter, which I wasn't up for de/resoldering.

I traced the other pins from the eprom and found they were pretty much sequentially connected to the GSU chip. Connected A7 to pin 11 where it seemed it should go, and it worked. In the process I made a partial pinout diagram for the FX GSU-2 chip. As I couldn't find it anywhere else (admittedly a quick google resulting in some broken links to imageshack) thought I'd post it here, Might help someone having similar problems;

Not as good as the original, and pretty short, but a fun game nonetheless. ;)
