After some advice here.
I recently sold a Taito F2 Motherboard and Dead Connection to a member, before sending it out made sure it was fully working on my Astro City. I mean I played through most of the game not just powering it on etc.
The buyer messaged me yesterday saying there is only sound when you credit up the board, and on the game over screen - all other sound effects are missing. He's also using an Astro City and a Supergun and the problem happens on both of his setups. I've asked him to try the following steps:
1. Cleaned the edge connector on the board with IPA
2. Taken the two boards apart and re-seated them carefully, ensuring there is a good connection.
3. Checked the volume pot on the board and the volume on his cab / super gun
4. Checked the board for any ROMs or customs that are not seated correctly?
5. Checked in the service menu for any sound settings
The board was very well packed, the buyer has confirmed there was no damage to the packaging at all. He's also provided a video of the issue, which seems to be as described. I've never had a board develop a fault like this, Is there anything else to try, or does anyone know specifics of the F2 hardware that might be useful?
*I neglected ask him to confirm what voltages are coming from his cab / supergun which I will do.
edit: Buyer confirmed he is using a jamma voltmeter and is at exactly 5.0v
