[ukvac] Tech: G05 805 problem
Hi all, got a working boardset for my Asteroids Deluxe (thanks Pman), and it
looks like the monitor is knackered. The symptoms are;
- Games plays OK blind.
- Spot Killer is off.
- Monitor shows a ghostly white glow with both Brightness and Contrast
turned up full. During game play this brightness fluctuates - for example
when you fire.
- Neck tube glows.
- Turning focus control has no effect.
I'm assuming that with the spot killer off I'm getting the right signals
from the PCB, so where do I go from here. Is it going to be worth getting
a cap kit and changeing the chassis mounted transistors or is it a deeper
more terminal problems than that? I'm sure I know the answer but I'll ask
anyway, does anyone have a working G05 805 for sale?
