[ukvac] TECH: Jailbars on Galaxian/Moon Alien PCB
Hi all ...

As the Galaxians PCB is quite a common platform I'm after a bit of tech
help fault finding my Galaxian (Actually, Moon Alien Part II) PCB.

When I got the game it was converted to amidar. It had faulty CMOS RAM
(2101's) and Jailbars. I've unhacked the game and it's running Super
Galaxians quite happily apart from the Jailbars ...

What I'm getting is 8 groups of 3 1 pixel wide green lines that fill the
upper half screen and some 'random' thicker yellow lines that seem to
change with gameplay. I've already changed the sockets that hold the
character ROMs (which were a bit ropey) with no effect.

While I'm on the group I also need the following for this PCB:

2101/5101 CMOS RAM (I've 'borrowed' the ones I'm using)
A Galaxians Colour PROM (Amidar Colours look odd!)
2x 27128's for when I multigame it (for the character ROMs)

Dave, first stop, get the 2 parts of the Galaxian Troubleshooting manual off
of Spies.. go get it now! that should have you sorted

why? its not really all that interesting..

HEY! what's going on, are people SCARED to post?? come on.. tech posts are
WELCOMED and ENCOURAGED.. for sale and WTB etc are annoying, and you should
ALWAYS watch the reply button as there are far too many people not paying
attention (ok, i've done it, we've all done it, but some people ALWAYS seem
not to watch it
