TECH: Konami Hardware

UKVAC,

I have been looking over several Konami boardsets (most notably Jackal and Hyper Sports) and have noticed that they commonly have dual 6809 processors. I would be interested to learn how the processing was distributed between the two. i.e. Does one do the graphics and the other do IO and sound ?

Your input most appreciated.

Generally one cpu is a dedicated sound cpu, it handles sound and
nothing else. The other cpu does everything else! Most of the games
will still work perfectly if you remove the sound cpu. (Just no
sound of course)
