I'got a technical a problem with a Hantrex Vector monitor fitted to an Asteroids clone. The following links should show you want the problem looks like when the machine is in test mode:

I think I saw a post a while back from someone with a similar problem, can't find it in the archives though. Any advice or pointers to helpful information anyone could give would be most appreciated. Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve

It looks very much like a problem I had with my asteroids

it was traced to the asteroids pcb and not the monitor

it was in the Y output section of the vector generation circuitry

traced to a couple of TTL's

if you check to see which of the TTL's have pcb tracks going to the ADC's then you will have a good idea on which ones to start replacing

Re: [ukvac] tech: Vector monitor
Mark,

You are right it is the board. I connected a scope upto the X & Y outputs
on the board and got the same result. I shouldn't have asumed it was the
monitor without checking first!

Cheers, Steve
