Just wanted to mention a quick public thanks to Simon aka Unit504 for the scans he's produced of the GTi Club Twin manual and the Op Wolf manual.

They're currently hosted at http://lois.ultrax.org/trmatthe/manuals/ and have been added to the Useful Sites sticky in Tech. They will also make their way into the main archive sites; the Op Wolf scan is much better than the previous one I'd seen and I'm pretty sure this is the first copy of the GTi Twin manual online!

Thanks dude!

Seriously, Unit504 (Si) has been a big help to me with storing some monitors.

Living in my neck of the woods it's nice to have a local arcade bud.

He did have a few machines/boards a while back and probably pre-dates me...which isn't hard.

He then stopped for a bit and has got the bug again, he's nothing but helpful and he's got my time if he ever needs it, lovely bloke to deal with.

In fact get that Bubble Bobble marquee over as soon as your free, bring op wolf with it's faulty sound and we shall wire up a quick loom, get it on my rig and try to fix the sound issue.

Maybe bad sound rom? We can compare it to mame and try to burn another??

Big up for Si.

If you ever sell op wolf I want first refusal, unless your mate got in there first!!

You know there is a schematic package for Op Wolf? Not the best scans ever, but usable. Perfect material for a Tech thread assuming the board can get somewhere where there's a test rig and some tools...

Ok cool! At last a board with schemes!

Maybe beyond me, but we shall have a go, I can rule out the simple things first then may need some help, I'll have a go and hope your about on the day Tim if we get stuck.

If the sound board has the fault on it, I'm less scared of that than the main board, hopefully the mainboard is fine and the sound board is the issue.

Tim what would your money be on this one?

The sounds all work....but any kind of speech just has a high pitched beep where the voices should be.

So 12v ok etc... as it works, just lost certain sounds?!?

Any clues where to start?

Answer this in tech thread if there is one on here for it?

I know he did post one on J+

Ta mate

You looked at the schems then ;)

I'm still working at the moment (a massive GPO change) so when I finish I'll grab the schems onto my iPad and have a peruse whilst relaxing in my smoking jacket. The speech is almost certainly a set of basic samples, so with a combination of MAME debug mode, MAWS, the schematics, a few screen clips and a bit of luck I should be able to walk you through the path I followed to figure out how the speech is triggered and what could be at fault.

If there isn't a Tech thread would one of you two care to open one gentlemen?
