most days i play either video cabs or pinball. last night i fired up bram stokers dracula

this is 1 of my fave pinballs. the sounds are awesome, the gameplay tight and fast. this isnt a table for noobies.

anyway, me and the mrs were just playing as we normally do, nothing out of the ordinary. racking up a few decent scores then BANG.

ball 1, i had scored about 40 million, a reasonably decent score

ball 2 i had racked up 3.7 billion

i picked up 4 extra balls and looped the ramp twice. my bonus was, just under 400 million on the bats and 136 million on the rats. i got every jackpot going, dracula, castle and was hitting 30 million on a multi, multiball. i had the out lanes lit too. and as i had maxed out the multiplier it was giving me 50 million for extra lanes lit.

the machine was going bonkers, awesome displays on the dmd and the blood curdling screams as i picked up the jackpots. i doubt i will ever reach that level of play again. i have experienced this out of body play whilst doing a couple of shooters. its that moment when you communicate with yourself, a feeling of being part of the game, i suppose a bit like tron, but more a part of the machine. thats what makes video and pinball gaming so good.

and the final score 6.888 billion

although not life changing, it was a really magical time. i took a photo on my phone but as per the norm, its s4ite. its a pity we didnt video it, but we is too fick to do that

i forgot to add that we had it set for 5 balls. but tbh the damage was done on ball 2. an hour or so later mick showed up with some lager, thats the guy who told us about the importance of earths, just before the egret tried to kill me

so all in all a great night, free beer and a great night of pinball.

it is indeed minty ol and will be getting cleaned and waxed in the next couple of weeks. there is a sttng sitting in the garage doing nowt. maybe time to get it fired up

the advantage of pinballs is that the mrs likes them, so no grief on the video side of things. as they say a win win situation. tbh im considering getting rid of the sttng as its a wide body and doesnt get played. its got a fault, it keeps looking for a ball. not to pricey to fix though a very nice man has offered me a replacement board for a tenner. im looking forward to the new seasons ukpinball league meets. i might even loan a machine or 2, last machine we used was a mr and mrs pacman. i didnt see it for 9 months, then when it came back i had no room so it went to a j+ scottish member. if i can swing it then im coming down for the slam. only problem is transport i would need to fly down and getting from the airport to the slam is a bit of a slog, but we shall see.
