By the looks of the latest messages, he’s bought the hozan.

They all look like they’ve had too much pressure applied

It looks like the outer bit, pinching the flex is either too small, crimped upside down or not using the “m” / bum shaped slot at all

the little wings should be pointing upwards, they then curl into that m shape you want

Take about 5 and practice crimping in the slot that fits both right way up and what you think is upside down. If you have the right gauge of wire and crimp, they take next to no pressure.

When you push them with a lot of force, that’s when they start to bend.
Yes, correct, I bought the Hozan P707 off ebay - £65 or so and took an age to arrive from Japan.
You are correct, I've learnt not to apply too much force or it goes monkey. You just have to squeeze them.

Where do y'all buy the crimps from?

The 3 red wires, the outer insulation hasn’t been cut short enough. The outermost “wings” are the only thing that should make contact with it.

You ideally want to know diameter of the insulation, so you can pick the right position in the crimping tool too. You can figure it out by testing it without any crimp and see which size first pinches it.

sorry for bringing this thread back to life - I'm looking for some crimpers to rewire my NNC.

Whats the difference between the 706 and 707? For just Arcade stuff is the 707 needed?

I'm mainly crimping Molex and TE type connectors.
