My Sharp Twin Famicom came last week and in the consoles almost 30 year life I don't think it had ever had a wipe with a cloth.

So I set about it over the last few days with soapy water and a can of compressed air.

I am pretty happy with the conclusion.

My favourite bit is always when you come to opening up the controller for it's first wash in 15/20 years. That goo that sits in the crevice where the two pieces connect is food, skin and sweat. I won't touch a new purchase until that is all gone. Bleugh!
