Sadly though it's about as much use as a chocolate poker to me as I don't have XBL Gold Membership. After the Xbox dash update this evening I noticed that more and more is going 'Gold Membership Required' on there. Which at £40 / year (EACH - there's two of us here) I think is very steep. Love Film for instance. Why the F*ck should I pay for gold membership to watch that. I already pay Amazon (or whoever it is) £9.99 a month for the privilege. That should be the end of it like it is with the PS3. I can stomach the online gaming and stuff requiring Gold Membership, that's what it's for but charging us just so MS can get their tax in on the 3rd party apps is taking the p*ss out of the consumer.

Back to the subject of Steam Shortcuts, aren't 'Pin To Start' and the 'Modern UI' (can't call it Metro UI any more - tut tut!) the same thing? I thought 'Pin To Start' pinned it to the 'Modern UI'??
Damn, things aren't looking good if the likes of you and I can get confused!
But yeah, I mean I want to pin them to the full-screen 'Modern / Metro UI' start menu. I love it and want my desktop completely empty of shortcuts...
Before you say it, no you can't just right click it on the desktop and do 'Pin To Start', the option isn't there because they're proprietary URLs. Go into the properties of the Black Mesa shortcut for instance and you'll find it doesn't directly point to a file on the system but in fact it points to

Hence I guess it's stumping Windows and wondering if there's any kind of short cut / work around / back door method (registry entry?, hidden folder? etc.?)
