Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice on Android tablets.

I will probably be buying one each for my 2 kids for Christmas - to replace their Google Nexus 7 tablets that are seemingly both completely dead now.

They have had them at least a couple of years each - and have been a bit of a PIA for most of the time they've had them, at least as far as charging the batteries goes.

Many times I've had to do a reset on them to get the battery charging again. However even this seems impossible now as I just can't get any life at all from either of them.

So has anyone got any recommendations of decent replacements that are not going to break the bank?Ideally looking for something around £100 each if possible - I will also consider second hand, as long as they are boxed and in pretty much new condition if it helps get a better tablet for the money.

Reliable battery charging is a must - they will probably be used very regularly. I see there is a Google Nexus 9 now. Do these suffer with any battery charging problems as the 7's seemed to? Haven't looked too much into it yet.

Open to suggestions about any make/model though.

Cheers

Danny

I'm on a nexus 7 now, never had problems and had it since end 2013. Only last couple of months noticed the battery takes longer to charge though . I'd recommend a Google Nexus again.

From what the grandkids have... Iirc one is a lenovo that takes ages to switch on. One is a 2nd hand hp thing of ebay that doesn't always charge well and the last is a bush one that is bloody loud seems to have the same battery life as the others comes with rubber cases it's an older version of Android but was about 50 quid or 60 or something from argos.
The missus has a kindle hd from about 3 years ago and again the battery seems about the same as the rest...

Me personally if still there would go cheap and cheerful bush one from argos out of the 3

Kindle fire has a gimped os I think. My dad's does, appstore is different. I had the first Nexus 7 for years was gutted when it bit the dust last year, did a lot of research and ended up buying another Nexus. I love the size, I've read that the next android OS won't work on the 7 tho so maybe for the kids look at a galaxy tab A. strykr2016-09-19 23:53:29
