I got back an MS2930 from a repair shop today but it appears they'd wrapped the HV cable from the flyback around one of the larger components on the chassis, then packed it with sufficient force to basically rip the component from the board. As you can see, the winding was neatly broken and (slightly more hidden) some of the plastic underneath had snapped and was just rattling around in there. That whole assembly is now pretty much hanging loose.

Can it be repaired?

EDIT: Said repair shop has been very good and offered to fix it right away, so I've redacted them from the post. I'll leave this here though in case anyone has insight into the repair job itself. Might be useful for someone in the future.

I don't see why not.

Personally I would scrape away the varnish coating on the copper wire with a sharp scalpel blade, tin both ends then join them with solder.

I was just about to send the board back when I realised my defunct MS2931 had this little chap on it. It's a 751B1N whereas the 2930 uses a 751B1u. Visually they're identical but I've no idea if the windings are any different. Anyone know if they're interchangeable?
