One of the highlights of my 80's youth, was visiting my nan every sunday, but also christmas day and boxing day. Having a big family was great, as meant more presents! My nan also bought us a boxing day extra present, which is pictured below. I swear I was like 12, when I started getting these gift sets every year, and the last thing on my mind at 12 was wearing this stuff and using karate to fight girls off!

It always went in the trash, which I feel bad for now, as would love to have crowds of girls chasing me now at my age, ha ha.

What's the worst christmas present you got?

We stayed over at my nan and grandads house in the 80s for Christmas, in a nice little village. I remember one Christmas morning, I snook into the front room really early, before my folks woke up and took a present for myself and my sister back into our bedroom. Feeling really excited and a bit naughty, we proceeded to open the stolen presents.......Umbrellas. To say I was disappointed was an understatement, but maybe I got what I deserved for being naughty

I loved Christmas as a kid, special family times, well apart from that umbrella.

It wasn't a xmas present, but in the 70's my mum bought me a safari suit in purple

Still traumatised to this day (I never wore it - preferred my Charlie's Angels silhoutte T-shirt)

I didn't get it till mid Jan from the in-laws "we knew you liked games so got you this" they went straight to the charity shop but they weren't taking donations that day so I slipped it onto the shelf to avoid having to take them back

I'm sat wearing mine now 🤣 They've got pockets, all I ask for in PJs is that they have pockets 😂

I've always been thankful for whatever I've gotten really, but the most memorable disappointment was completely and utterly my own doing. I pretty much begged for a char-g car one year and to this day, still feel bad my parents were pretty much forced to spend money on one! Stack of AA in it, took what seemed like an eternity to charge off the controls which was the novelty, then ran for the best part of 60 seconds 🤦🏻‍♂️

Edit - the memories 😢

My PJs have pockets, but they're next to useless as they are about 2 inches deep.
Might be able to keep a couple of headache tablets in them for those times you've been out drinking and back in bed the room starts to spin . . .

I do recall being incensed when I received a blue canvas bag form someone. I made no effort to hide my disgust either - so much that my Mum took me to one side to have a word.
