XBOX 360 powered through JAMMA edge connector?

I think I know the answer already but would like to know is it possible to bypass the original XBOX 360's PSU and power the console directly from the JAMMA edge connector.

From a quick look the 360 requires a 12v, 5v and a Ground input. So the JAMMA PSU supplies the correct voltages.

But am I right thinking as the JAMMA PSU only outputs ~2.5A on the 12v and as the 360 brick supplies 14.2A that the JAMMA PSU isn't supplying anywhere near enough current to do the job?

Yeah, jamma switchers are primarily 5V based (15A or so there) and 12V is secondary, usually putting out a max of only 4A.
You could likely rig up a Naomi or PC ATX psu though, in place of the switcher.
