Hi All,

I am considering one of these so I can play old classic arcade games like "In the Hunt" from IREM which is a 1993 side scrolling submarine shoot 'em up.

Would you reccomend these CoinOPS and are the games emulated well in 60 fps and full screen etc, are there screen options for the arcade games as those will be of most interest to me? The price seems to be around £70 on ebay currently for one of these.

Any advice or guidance would be great.

I have already sent a PM to Beaps !!!

Cheers

Mark

We'll, they're ok. The Xbox outputs interlaced graphics so everything's a bit fuzzy, and it starts to struggle with later games ie mid90's onwards. I just use name on a pc, though I had a go on pimame running in a cab which was pretty good and outputs progressive scan rather than interlaced.

I have one at my caravan and the kids love it.
I put one together softmod for a friend of mine whose kid was very ill , and getting a usb so small to flash it was a pain in the ass.

I had one of the last batches the consoles and installed a executor chip and apart from the odd time you need to switch it on and off twice to boot it has never failed me at all. Just seems to do that when booted from cold when not been used in the winter.

I find only pain is the hardware the old pads are big so I got some newer original pads which were smaller.

For £70 I'd just get a pi with 128gb card in , that what I tend to play on.

Just bought the kids a snes mini too . Retro's out we all are !
