Hi all,
At Revival yesterday I bought a CF jobby for the +3 I've got... So here's how it went
+3 with the kit on top of it...
After
opening it up I connected the power lead (4 wires to solder) to the
underneath as per the instructions as the +3 has the disk drive soldered
in on the top and lined the bits up that you swap, and where I was
putting the CF card bit, etc...
So after that I put the chips in, added the ribbon cable to the CF bit and glued the wires and CF bit down with my glue gun.
Then fired it up to test....
Couple
of problems with it... As mentioned in the video it seems to be
overriding the disk drive (its meant to check for a disk then boot the
CF card if no disk) and also the power light connection on the pcb is
right at the edge of the z80 bit so the ribbon connector is pretty much
above it (the plug is in but its not the best)
Anyway overall it gets a big
from me.
What do you guys think?
