Bought a Revenge of doh arcade pcb from Ebay in working condition. These are the graphics I see in my jamma cabinet.
I measure 5,05V on the board. IMG20240531214506.jpg

That's a monitor issue.
There's no way multiple PCBs could have the same fault.
No idea why some PCBs would show correct and some not but it's definitely an issue with the monitor.

My original King of Dragons, Captain commando, Vendetta and MVS boards are working without problems.

Only the Arkanoid pcb's giving me those graphics.
It is kind of strange that Arkanoid Revenge of doh also gives me those graphics as a normal jamma pcb

That looks like video ground ..
Normally white on the jamma loom
So red is red blue is blue , green is green sync is yellow …. Vid ground is normally white .. pin 14

Here is a pic
IMG_5303.jpeg
See pin 14

Now check your adaptors…

Zeroing in on the video sync & your video ground. Basically tracing them back to your Jamma loom, through your adaptors and to the Arkanoid pcb..
That there is good connectivity ..

You could use a Multi meter on continuity if you see that are ok ..

They maybe fine and your sync knob on your monitor adjustmemt Controll pcb
needs turning : tuning in.. try this first if you haven’t already looks like that’s likely the issue . And a lot simpler..

I have been messing around with this chassis my self a bit..

Pentranic CH 288 or
Maybe yours is 21 or 19 ..
But I do recognize the way it looks out of sync..

Look up Taito F3 H sync refresh rates
Seems common for people to find it’s out of the normal range.

More on Taito F3 sync

Just tried my arkanoid PCB with video GND disconnected and couldn't reproduce this result.
I just got bad colours but no sign of the distortion shown in these pictures.
So now I'm wondering if it's the monitor you are using just doesn't like the resolution or refresh rate of arkanoid PCBs?
It's trying to sync but can't get a good match.
My test TV can display most games but for a few it fails completely to show a picture.
Maybe it's the same sort of thing here but instead of failing to show a picture it's producing a distorted one instead.

You could do with trying on a different setup.
Maybe with a supergun?

My original Arkanoid RoD pcb has sync issues with certain branded monitors (picture rolls and doesn’t lock).
If you can, try the boards with a different monitor.

Also, if your monitor is H-Composite sync, I would probably look into doing the small 7404 mod to convert the V-sync signals given from the PCB to H-sync for the monitor.

Totally correct 👍
Some bootlegs would just not work on certain monitors, sad but true

Tested all the boards with my VisionPro19" LCD.

First picture is Blocks bootleg.
Second one is the original Arkanoid Revenge of doh.
Third picture is bootleg 3019.

Could a wire from H sync + gnd to V sync + gnd fix this?

Graphics are 100 times better but still garbage on it.

It looks like a resolution/sync issue again.
Your monitor cannot show the correct resolution, see how the image doesn't fill the screen.
At least you know your PCBs are fine, you just don't have a setup or monitor that can display it correctly.

Maybe the white (sync?) should go to V.

Says it’s compatible with arkanoid

Shouldn’t this label have a V & H ?
Instead of the 2 V’s ?
IMG_5391.jpeg

Isnt yellow the normal sync Wire colour..
Looks like separate h sync & v sync

Anyway.. you may need to link a wire
Across to the other sync white wire for
The other V sync.
